Radio 2 debut!!/Bass playing Escapades/etc…

Why hello there…I hope you’re still there as I must confess-it’s been too long since I last posted. There are a number of reasons though-and some exciting ones at that. So here we go;
‘My daddy was a family bassman…’
I am stepping into the big bass playing shoes of Andy Calder of Ellen and the Escapades; Andy sadly has pneumonia and the Band have asked me to step in last minute to join them on their tour this week. I had never picked up bass before last friday and have been frantically learning Ellen’s songs for the tour,where we will be playing;
Tues 19th October(today!!)-Sheffield Boardwalk*
Weds 20th October-Birmingham Hare and Hounds*
Thurs 20th October-Bristol St. Bonadventures
Fri 21st October-Cardiff SWN Festival
Sat 23rd October-Manchester Night and Day)
* (with support from my good self ; )
“In Steve Lamacq We Trust…”
I had my first gig with Ellen and the Escapades at In The City Festival last thursday and during the set Mr Steve Lamacq popped into hear us play. I got chatting to Steve afterwards and he kindly informed me that he will indeed be playing one of my songs from my album,”Boy Cries Wolf” this saturday(23rd October) : ) Do tune into the show and have a listen,and a BIG thanks to Steve for choosing to play one of my songs-in you we certainly do trust… : )
Raw Talent
In other Radio related news,I was guest in the Acoustic Lounge of Raw Talent this sunday past and played a couple of songs for the lovely Alan Raw. You can listen back to the broadcast here;

(I’m about 16 minutes in). It’s always a pleasure to be a guest on Alan’s show-he’s a superb force behind new,unsigned music and i-as well as many.many other musicians-am very grateful for his contributions towards new music. Cheers Alan!
